We hope you enjoyed your labor(less) holiday weekend! On the heels of yesterday's celebration of workers nationwide, we'd be remiss not to acknowledge the myriad of celebrations that defined the last month here at our Firm.

From our Founder’s birthday (8/24), to National Black Business Month, August was dedicated to reflecting on where we've been, appreciating how far we've come, and envisioning the future for our Black business and those we serve; and the celebration continues.

In the months ahead, we look forward to highlighting takeaways from Attorney Smith's latest visit to Martha’s Vineyard, alongside founders, investors, and service providers in and beyond Web3 and Decentralized Finance (DeFi); the achievements of our clients; and opportunities to engage with the topics that all businesses are wrestling with - from AI and emerging tech, to funding mechanisms for startups and nonprofits across industries.

Client Spotlights

August marked one (1) year since our business and IP client, Caronette Fibroid & Pelvic Wellness Center opened its doors in Silver Spring, Maryland! A year later, Caronette’s Founder, Dr. O. Lawrence Stitt, has expanded to Georgia, where he will continue offering women the noninvasive fibroid and endometriosis treatments they need to thrive. Today, and always, we salute his commitment to addressing issues disproportionately impacting Black women, and women of color. Cheers to many more years of continued success! Check out highlights from last year's grand opening below:

To kick off her birthday, our Founder spent the morning at the historic Langston Golf Course in Washington, DC alongside Renegade Golf’s founder, Kenneth Duncan. A long time business and IP client, Renegade has spent the last month or so celebrating the announcement of a first of its kind PGA Superstore deal to distribute its state of the art golf balls nationwide. Next up: Walmart, following Kenneth's successful matriculation through the Russel Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. Congratulations, Kenneth; we look forward to protecting your brilliant ideas and business in the months and years ahead!
